Mahalo to all our wonderful private chefs and our attendees! The event was a huge success and a great time was had by all! After everyone tasted each Amuse-Bouche, the results were tabulated and the awards were as follows (in photographic order, left to right):

• For Most Inventive: Rodger 'Raja' Shortell
  • Dish: Coco Cabonara
  • I deconstructed the Carbonara and remade it with Maui fresh ingredients. I used lavender/herb charred baby coconut (meat and the creamy element), crispy rice noodles, masago (egg element), a persimmon/tomato coulis and a green onion sliver (parsley element) served warm in a siamin spoon with coconut water.
• For Best Taste: Chef John Galvan
  • Dish: Mango Mac Nut Ahi
  • Fresh raw red kale topped with a honey Mac nut mango crumble, fresh ahi sashimi, shaved Maui onion, and finished with a blood orange sherry vinegar reduction and a hot Meyer lemon infused olive oil.
• For Best Theme (Maui with a Twist): Chef Susan Teton
  • Dish: Molokai Sweet Potato Quiche
  • A quiche with fresh cilantro, spinach and red pepper, topped with goat cheese and a fresh lime, served on a molokai sweet potato and caramelized maui onion crust.
• For Best Presentation: Chef Elijah Manahan
  • Dish: Greek Maui Fusion
  • Seared mahi and cu***ber mint sauce with raw salad and tomato pineapple broth

All of the chefs were awarded beautiful holiday boxes of fresh local produce from Kula Fields!
