My Approach

Covert Affairs provides elite personal chef services in Hawaii and abroad. Our services are the perfect solution to your culinary journey from a romantic dinner for two, to a large special event. Your affair can be customized to suit any need, from the menu design to the table settings. Covert Affairs pledges to utilize locally grown, fresh seasonal and organic ingredients to offer you a fresh approach to your palate all year long.

About Me

Ryan's culinary journey began at the early age of 15. He had a passion for fine cuisine and once he wet his taste buds in the Culinary Industry, his appetite for cuisine only grew. He attended the prestigious Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, Florida where he received his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. Florida's diverse culture and Cuban Caribbean flair inspired Ryan's art and culinary style.

Upon graduation, Ryan returned to Hawaii where he has held several positions within the industry including Director of Restaurants at the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel (2002-2005), followed by the Personal Chef of the "FIGHTING IRISH"; a privately owned yacht that sails around the world (2006-2007).

In 2007, Ryan Covert established his personal chef company on Oahu called COVERT AFFAIRS LLC. This exquisite company offers delicious menu preparations, organic and seasonal offerings, and stellar service to both locals and vacationers throughout the year. From intimate dinners to elegant events, Ryan's style and charisma shines bright through his custom menu design, artistic plating and diverse table settings unique for each affair.

Ryan has recently been acknowledged as the new featured chef from KTA Super Stores on the Big Island. You can read his published recipes throughout the year in KTA's monthly coupon books.
